Cross posting fool....
I just got my "you have been inactive for one month, you will be reaped after 4 months of non-use" message a few weeks ago. I still haven't logged back in. Is it worth MOOing anymore? Even on LambdaMoo?

On Achaea..

I just talked to the LEGAL DEPARTMENT at TechTV and they do not have any such knowledge of any such quote and were quite interested in such a claim being posted on a website which gets as much traffic as The Mud Connector. TechTV archives everything from all of their shows on their website, if you go on there and do a search, you will find nothing.

Granted, when I sent out my first email it was merely out of my watching the channel and searching, but if you don't want to take their own company's word for it, be my guest. Priscilla also said they recently had another website selling something which was using their logo and a manufactured quote, which they promptly dealt with.

If you would like to speak to her yourself, ask for Priscilla in the Legal Department, their number is (415) 355-4000. Incidentally the company is owned by a holding company of Paul Allen's, one of the founders of Microsft, so I'm sure they have more than enough money (and lawyers) to grind anyone whom they really wish into paste.

Charles, here is Matthew's finaly reply on the matter, and my own.

I think its absurd to assume that since you watch the channel that
anything you have not seen on it must be falsified...

Before you start making accusations and such I would suggest you come up
with evidence that the quote didn't exist, given that as Matthew said I
would also see to it that the quote be removed from our site under those

Someone tells the group 'nod ok cool. say we are high-elfs hence not from kisah. and we are children of nobles. so we can be all condescending and snooty. hehe'

You tell your group 'hehehe... i like snooty.'

Someone tells the group 'no not vietnamese..phillipino is more in theme'

You tell your group 'or we could skip the prostitute bit '

Someone tells the group 'i really really want to be a bangkok lady-boy and so we ran away from home so i could get the money for the op'

I finally figured out how to join a community!

Just figured I'd say hello. I'd introduce myself as well, but that's probably more easily done by reading my userinfo or my journal. I spend pretty much all of my time on Lambda, but I've had accounts on something like a dozen MOOs (some of which are now defunct or have reaped my character). My first character was on MOOFrancais in late 1995. The #113614 reference in my userinfo is to my object number on Lambda.

A posting client for MOO?! I may have to come check out MOO Canada!

Oh wow..
I thought this community had been abandoned.

I'm coding a ROM deriv ATM, more social-explorative based than adventure-killer based..

So, why not field this idea here:

Suggestions, comments, any must-haves on an alchemy system?

LiveJournalling from the MOO!
I coded a LiveJournal client on the MOO! (MOO Canada Eh? only need apply)

@addfeature $ljmoo

lj-login (username)

lj-changeuser (one of your shared journals)

lj-update (subject)

You can skip the changeuser step, obviously, or you can changeuser to your own account, both will do the same thing. Yes, you can update your LJ from the MOO now! More features coming shortly. :) Enjoy.

I'd just like to make the first entry because I want to, and because I can. If you guys read this, but have no clue how to post entries, here's the deal...
You're probably going to want to add the community to your friends list. After this, you'll want to log in and go to update, as you normally would. You'll notice under 'Optional Settings' (where you find the current music and current mood) it says 'Journal to post in'. If you click on the drop down, you'll see the community name in there, and your user name as the default. Click on the community name, and your post will show up here instead of your journal.
I feel like a 'Posting to a Shared Journal For Dummies' book.

(Recommendation for today is MOO Canada! ^_-)
